Congratulations Ishani & Gokulan! Ishani and Gokulan were engaged on the 29th of December on Signal Hill accompanied by family and friends. There was quite a bit of planning involved in trying to get Ishani there without her knowing what was about to happen but they managed to pull it off! Although Gok’s plan was to ask her under the star at Cabot Tower the wind was so strong they had to take cover on the side of the tower while he asked her to marry him. With the winds being as high as they were they had both the honor of having family and friends there to witness the proposal as well as the intimacy of only the two of them being able to hear the words themselves. Sounds like the perfect surprise romantic engagement to me! We took these pictures a couple of days later and it was beautiful at Bowring park and on George Street! By the time we made it to Signal Hill the wind had picked up again and it was freezing! Thank you both for braving the high winds and frigid temperatures to get these pictures! The two of you make the sweetest couple and I can’t wait to see you again for your 2013 wedding!

Tamara and Jonathan really like nighttime shots so we planned the Day After Session so that we would be able to get a little bit of everything. Trying something new and different is always fun so we did the “Trash the dress” portion in the ocean at night! With the nighttime shooting on the beach being a little more challenging then a regular shoot we enlisted the help of Tamara’s sister Tracey along with Krista who came along to Jamaica as my assistant in order to light up enough of the beach for the pictures! Thank you so much for being so patient with the lighting, you were both wonderful! I have to add that I am a huge wimp and after shooting in the water for about 10 minutes or so we heard a rather loud and large splash behind us which caused some laughter and teasing for the rest of the week from Jonathan who as an experienced scuba diver was pretty sure it was nothing to be worried about. Not that I panicked… ok maybe I did a little. Thank you Tamara and Jonathan for being so fantastic to work with! There is no doubt how much the two of you love each other and just how close you are when you see you together.

Congratulations Jonathan & Tamara! What a couple, what a wedding what a week!! Jonathan & Tamara were married at Gran Bahia Principe in beautiful Runaway Bay Jamaica with almost 40 of their closest friends and family in attendance. What a fun group of people their friends and family turned out to be! Everyone had a fabulous week which included scuba diving, deep sea fishing, Duns River Falls and other excursions. The week started off with everyone arriving at the airport in Montego Bay (Jonathan and Tamara flew in earlier but waited for everyone to arrive) and then a meet and greet that evening where Tamara and Jonathan handed out welcome bags to everyone!
The wedding took place on Monday and it was a beautiful day for a wedding. Tamara was stunning, Jonathan was handsome and the girls and the guys all looked fabulous! The ringbearer Carson (Tamara & Jonathan’s nephew) really stole the show he was so cute carrying his little flag down the isle. Jonathan and Tamara chose to have a first look as the wedding was close to sunset and it was a beautiful and emotional meeting between the two of them. After the reception dinner they had a surprise choreographed dance and it was very impressive! They started off with a slow song just like everyone would expect and then broke out into three fast mini-songs and closed with a slow one. It was amazing! Tamara & Jonathan, you have an amazing group of family and friends and I wish every one of you all the best in the years ahead. Stay tuned for the Day After shoot and TTD session! I could go on about how fantastic everyone was and how much fun we had but instead I’ll do up a little post with some of the random fun and funny pictures taken through-out the week after the Day After session has been posted!

Happy 12th Anniversary Terry & Jodie! Twelve years ago Terry & Jodie were married and as a romantic surprise Terry wanted to plan the vow renewal they promised each other they would do sometime after their 10th anniversary. I consider Terry and Jodie to be very close friends and I was honored to be invited to their vow renewal. I was even more honored when they asked me to take a couple (literally a couple) of pictures of the two of them and their son Liam sometime during the day. I’m not really the type of photographer who can only take a couple of pictures, so I talked them into letting me take just a few more! Watching Terry and Jodie along with their son Liam together after 12 years of marriage should be an inspiration to all married couples and families as the love they share is so easy to see. I’m proud to call them both my friends and I wish you even more joy and happiness in the years ahead.

Congratulations Andrea & Mike! I met Andrea & Mike when I did her brother Jonathan’s wedding a few years ago and I’ve never met someone so excited to be both a mother and a wife! I’ve been photographing Andrea & Mike’s little boy Liam every couple of months for a year now and if you want to see someone glow, just watch Andrea with her family. Liam might only be one but he’s had more kisses and hugs then you could possibly count from both Mommy and Daddy! Throw in some very sweet grandparents and Aunts and Uncles and you have an amazing family that makes you smile whenever you see them together. Andrea & Mike, the two of you have waited a long time for your big day and I’m so happy I was able to be there to capture it. I can’t wait to see what life has in store for the three of you! (well four of you if count Jessie and I’m sure you do!) I apologize to Mike for including the picture of him and his brother but I couldn’t resist! I’m not sure I’ve ever seen siblings who look so much alike or are so silly together! I wish all the best to the “four” of you as well as your family and friends in the years ahead!
Thank you once again to Adam Kavanagh for coming along to help out until the reception! There are a few of his photos mixed into the blog here and marked with AK. I also want to thank my regular assistant Megan for being such a joy to have with me and such a huge help through-out the year!
