Congratulations Heidi & James! Wow.. where to even begin. Heidi and James organized their beautiful vintage DIY wedding from Australia and what a tremendous feat that had to have been. Heidi enlisted a great deal of help from home (especially her fabulous Mom Debbie and Aunt Una) and they pulled this wedding off with style, beauty and ton of class. If I had to describe this wedding in one word it would be “Phenomenal.” Every detail had meaning to both Heidi and James and came from all around the world purchased or made from things in the countries they have visited on their travels or by family and friends. Heidi’s great grandmothers lace handkerchief holder, the cake stand that was engraved from the family tree on Sound Island that came down in a storm, the archway Heidi’s Grandfather made for the wedding ceremony, and the embroidered lace table runners and borrowed vintage teacups are just a few of the details that made this day so special to Heidi and James and their families. How about the overwhelming support of friends and family who came from all over the world to be a part of this special day! You know that you are well respected and loved when your friends and family travel so far because they want to celebrate one of the most important days of your life with you. We had such a fabulous time at this wedding and Heather and I were both in “accent” heaven! We may have had torrential rain on the wedding day but it didn’t stop Heidi and James from having the overall perfect wedding experience. Thank you all so much for your hospitality and kindness and for being such a wonderful group of family and friends to celebrate with. I was so happy when the rain finally slacked off enough for you get your lanterns and sparklers out for a few pictures to end off your perfect day, and even though it was 3:30am when we did it and James had made me and Heather both do Tequila shooters with him (Ps… James I spit mine out when you weren’t looking!) those pictures turned out fantastic too!
Heidi and James, I wish you, your amazing friends and family a wonderful life full of laughter and happiness. I hope when you look back at your wedding day in the years to come you remember just how much love, joy, laughter and tears everyone shared with you. Thank you so much for having us as part of your day, it was an amazing experience! Up next, the “Day After Session.”
Heidi & James also had a day after session due to the rain on their wedding day. We took a boat out to the island where Heidi’s grandparents cabin is located. Here are a few of the images from the day after shoot.
